Elina Oehlert, the artist and designer behind Yuuka Universe, is bringing color and charm to the world of handmade jewelry. Working out of her art studio in the Callowhill neighborhood, Oehlert hand-sculpts each piece with care, creating accessories that reflect a playful and tenderhearted spirit.
Oehlert’s designs often feature bright colors and cheerful shapes. Her most popular pieces include earrings shaped like fruits and vegetables, along with vibrant beaded necklaces.
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Oehlert studied painting before turning to polymer clay in her senior year to craft jewelry. What began as a personal project soon gained attention on Instagram. Encouraged by the positive response, she launched her own brand, Yuuka Universe.
Since then, the brand has expanded beyond jewelry. Oehlert now also makes beanies and hair claws, and she plans to offer prints of her paintings in the near future.
With every piece she creates, Oehlert hopes to inspire joy and self-expression. “I want people to feel like their true selves when they wear Yuuka Universe,” she says.
