Kristine Agcopra never planned to start a fine jewelry business. Her journey began while working as a flight attendant, a career that took her around the world for a decade.
“Honestly, it just developed over time,” she said. “I was based in Saudi Arabia and used that as an opportunity to look for the best and most reputable jewelry suppliers. That’s how I started buying and selling.”
What began as a small buy-and-sell effort soon gained momentum. Agcopra spent five years live-selling jewelry directly from her suppliers’ stores, gradually building a loyal customer base. “I wasn’t into customized jewelry yet, but I had many clients who stayed with me through the years,” she said.
The COVID-19 pandemic marked a major shift in her business. While many operations slowed down, Agcopra continued to sell jewelry online. Some customers even visited her home to shop in person. That experience pushed her to take the next step.
“Right after the pandemic, I decided to take the risk and launch Theia Gems,” she said. “I wanted to create a brand that makes fine jewelry accessible to everyone. I’m grateful I made that decision.”
Today, Agcopra measures success in more than just financial terms. “To me, success means being happy and content with what you do,” she said. “It’s about owning your time and finding balance between work and life. That’s my main priority now.”
Agcopra once lived a fast-paced lifestyle, flying often even on her days off. She used those trips to shop for clients. Although it was exhausting, she says she has no regrets. “It helped me save money and grow my business. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Those experiences brought me to where I am now.”
Looking ahead, Agcopra plans to expand Theia Gems. “I really want to develop the brand more,” she said.
Still, the most meaningful part of her work remains the same: helping people celebrate life’s special moments. “Every couple who visits Theia Gems leaves a mark on me and on the brand,” she said. “It’s humbling and such an honor to be part of their milestones.”
