At the prestigious JCK Las Vegas 2025, one of the world’s largest jewellery events, Govind Dholakia was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Diamonds Do Good.
The award recognizes Dholakia’s remarkable journey, which began in a small village in Gujarat and led him to establish one of the most respected names in the global diamond industry. Over the course of six decades, he has been celebrated for not only SRK’s technical and ethical standards in diamond manufacturing but also for his unwavering commitment to sustainability, philanthropy, and social development.
Shreyans Dholakia, the Entrepreneur and Brand Custodian of SRK, accepted the award on his father’s behalf. He spoke with great pride about the values his father instilled in both the company and its local community, highlighting the importance of this moment for their family, the artisans of Surat, and the Indian diamond industry at large.
This marks the second major award Dholakia has received in the United States. In the past, he was honoured with the USGBC Leadership Award by the U.S. Green Building Council in Boston for his contributions to sustainable development.
Under Dholakia’s leadership, SRK has set new standards in ethical sourcing and environmental responsibility. The company’s diamond crafting facilities in Surat are certified as Net Zero Energy buildings—an industry-first—and have been recognized for their low carbon emissions in diamond manufacturing worldwide.
This year also marks the 10th anniversary of SRK’s philanthropic arm, the SRK Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF). Founded on Dholakia’s long-standing commitment to giving back, the foundation has touched millions of lives with initiatives in education, healthcare, rural development, and the empowerment of girls.
The recognition at JCK Las Vegas 2025 not only marks a personal achievement for Dholakia but also celebrates a legacy rooted in purpose, integrity, and the belief that true success lies in making a meaningful impact beyond business.
