The collaboration between New York menswear label Noah and American watchmaker Timex is back. Their latest release follows the success of their first joint effort, offering another stylish timepiece likely to attract attention—and frustrate those hoping for an easy purchase.
The new design moves away from the square moonphase case seen in the original model, which paid tribute to the proportions of the classic Cartier Tank. In its place is a softly rounded elliptical case, featuring a painted dial that shows a lighthouse scene.
While last year’s watch hinted at Cartier’s iconic style, this new model draws inspiration from a more unusual source—the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse. Introduced in 1968, the Golden Ellipse became a cult favorite among collectors who wanted something quieter than the Nautilus and rarer than the Calatrava.
Noah and Timex nod to that heritage but keep their design grounded and accessible.
This contrast is what makes the collaboration stand out. Unlike Patek’s handcrafted models, which often feature enamel artwork and six-figure price tags, the 2025 Noah x Timex watch offers a coastal-inspired painted dial for under $200.
The original Noah x Timex was an unexpected hit. It reached far beyond watch collectors—even casual observers noticed it. It functioned as a gateway to watch culture, much like the MoonSwatch did, but with a different approach.
Where the MoonSwatch relied on strong branding and a sense of collectibility, Noah’s Timex stood out for its design. That first model blended elements of classic square dress watches like Cartier’s Tank and Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso, but with a modern twist. Watch experts saw hints of the Tank Chinoise, while newcomers simply liked how it looked—and that was the goal.
The new release keeps the same minimal dress watch aesthetic, with a leather strap and clean dial, but updates the shape and inspiration. Squares are out, ellipses are in. This time, the design swaps the sharp elegance of the Tank for the quiet luxury of the Golden Ellipse.
