The 55th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show concluded successfully at Expo Centre Sharjah on Sunday. The five-day event drew over 87,000 visitors, marking a 9% increase compared to the previous year. Held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the show reaffirmed its status as a key event for luxury enthusiasts and industry professionals.
Supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the exhibition featured more than 500 local and international exhibitors. For the first time, participants from Russia, Mexico, Tanzania, and Egypt joined the event. The show covered 30,000 square metres and showcased the work of elite jewellers, watchmakers, and 1,800 renowned designers and manufacturers.
A major highlight was the unveiling of the world’s longest diamond necklace. This impressive 108-metre piece was set with over 600 lab-grown diamonds and crafted in 18-karat rose gold. Other notable displays included the Union Frame, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest gold frame in the world, and ‘Gold-Zilla’ — a gold-plated car valued at AED 3.67 million, presented by Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery.
The Italian pavilion attracted significant attention, with a 15% increase in participation. About 50 exclusive Italian brands presented handcrafted, limited-edition diamond creations that drew many luxury collectors and enthusiasts.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, expressed pride in the event’s success. He said the large turnout and strong international presence showed confidence in the industry. “This show has become a global platform for innovation and excellence in the gold and jewellery sector. We remain committed to nurturing partnerships and fostering creativity,” he said.
The event also highlighted local talent, featuring 20 young Emirati women designers. Their jewellery collections reflected Emirati traditions such as Al-Talli. Standout pieces included Zayed’s Lantern, the Palm Necklace, and Emirati Dama’a. These designs combined cultural heritage with modern style.
Sales were strong throughout the show, helped by competitive prices and special discounts on luxury watches and premium jewellery. Organizers are now preparing to announce the winners of the event’s main prizes, which include a Tesla Model 3 and exquisite gold and diamond sets.
With every edition surpassing the last, the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show remains one of the region’s most important luxury events.
