Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council (Irthi) and The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), has launched a new jewellery collection called Precious Heart in Sharjah.
The exclusive collection includes 20 pieces and is valued at £9.7 million. Its purpose is to raise funds for humanitarian projects that help refugees, displaced people, and vulnerable communities worldwide. The collection was created through a partnership between Irthi, TBHF, and the British luxury brand Asprey.
Each piece in the collection is made from rare, high-purity imperial jadeite. The designs are inspired by the traditional Emirati craft known as Talli. The jewellery also features diamonds, amethysts, and natural pearls set in 18-karat gold. This combination blends heritage, luxury, and charitable goals.
Initially, the collection was planned to have 12 pieces worth £4 million. However, the exceptional quality of the jadeite—showing impurity levels below 7%—allowed for 20 pieces to be created. This increase more than doubled the collection’s value.
During the launch, Sheikha Jawaher spoke about the connection between art and humanitarian work. She said, “Since our earliest initiatives, we have followed one principle: beauty must serve a cause. This belief has helped us create events and partnerships that promote a more compassionate and just world.”
She also said, “This collaboration between Irthi, TBHF, and Asprey shows the power of shared goals. When heritage, charity, and excellent design come together, the result is a meaningful work of art that turns beauty into a force for good.”
