J. Crew has teamed up with Alighieri, a rising London-based jewelry brand, to launch a special collection of gold jewelry, accessories, and apparel. Alighieri, founded in 2014 by Rosh Mahtani, is inspired by Dante Alighieri, the 14th-century poet known for The Divine Comedy. The brand has quickly gained recognition, with features in top magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire, along with a strong Instagram following.
This collaboration with J. Crew marks a major milestone for Alighieri. The collection includes unisex items that celebrate maritime themes. Key pieces feature 24K gold-plated bronze medallions and Alighieri’s distinctive fish motif, hand-carved by Mahtani herself. These pieces are crafted in London’s Hatton Garden, using the ancient technique of lost-wax casting, which creates unique, imperfect designs that resemble buried treasure.
In addition to the jewelry, the collection also includes a white summer shirt from J. Crew adorned with Alighieri’s signature golden buttons, as well as various pendants and earrings, all cast in 24K gold-plated bronze.
