Dubai’s Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) has introduced a new digital platform called “Tawash” to improve the security of gold and jewellery transport in the city.
The system was unveiled at the Intersec 2025 event held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. “Tawash” uses advanced artificial intelligence to provide real-time tracking and better protection for valuable shipments.
With “Tawash,” gold and jewellery companies can manage the transport of their items using their own licensed and approved staff. This removes the need for third-party involvement, making the process simpler and more secure.
To join the system, companies must use security bags that have passed strict tests and been approved by SIRA. These bags ensure that the items stay safe during transport.
SIRA stressed that only bags meeting their high standards will be allowed in the “Tawash” system. Regular bags that are not tested are banned. This shows the agency’s focus on maintaining strong security rules.
The use of artificial intelligence lets companies monitor their shipments continuously and receive live updates about the location and condition of their goods.
The launch of “Tawash” is a major step forward for Dubai’s gold and jewellery sector. The emirate aims to lead the way in protecting valuable assets and making their transport safer and more transparent than ever before.
