Chopard has introduced a new box set under its iconic L’Heure du Diamant collection, once again highlighting its mastery in combining watchmaking with fine jewellery design.
The unveiling took place at this year’s Watches and Wonders event, where Chopard showcased timepieces that celebrate both tradition and innovation. The Swiss maison, under the ownership of the Scheufele family since 1963, continues to blend heritage craftsmanship with artistic excellence. Karl Scheufele III acquired Chopard with the vision of expanding his family’s watch and jewellery business, a mission that has guided the brand ever since.
Chopard’s journey into jewellery watches began in 1969, during a global wave of creative experimentation. The brand embraced a new era of elegance and artistic expression, quickly building a reputation for timepieces that were as visually striking as they were technically refined. By the 1970s, Chopard was designing bold watches featuring sculptural bracelets and ornamental stone dials.
In 2012, Chopard launched the L’Heure du Diamant collection. It became an instant success and won the Jewellery Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2013.
Now in 2025, the brand is expanding the collection with a new set titled “Precious Hours.” This special box includes 12 unique watches inspired by the vibrant aesthetic of the 1970s.
Each watch has a 26 mm case and is powered by the mechanical 10.01-C manual-winding movement. Despite its compact size—just 15.70 mm in diameter and 2.90 mm in thickness—it offers an impressive 45-hour power reserve. This movement ranks among the smallest in the world.
A defining feature of these timepieces is their ethical sourcing. Chopard uses ethical gold across the collection and incorporates bright, coloured dials framed by diamond bezels. These diamonds are set using Chopard’s signature technique, giving the impression of delicate lacework.
The new models feature stones such as pink opal, jade, and blue agate. Each stone was chosen for its symbolic meaning and natural beauty. Pink opal is known for its iridescence, jade is believed to have healing properties, and blue agate symbolizes renewal and transformation.
The bracelets have also received careful attention. Two of the 12 watches include a bark-textured bracelet made from ethical gold. This bracelet has a silk-like finish and follows the wearer’s movements comfortably—an innovation developed by the Scheufele family. The remaining 10 watches are paired with either satin or leather straps in colours matching the watch dials.
The entire collection is presented in a black lacquered case. It features a rotating tray that allows each timepiece to be viewed from different angles, highlighting their unique qualities.
For the first time, Chopard has also added a complication to the L’Heure du Diamant line. The new moonphase model comes with an aventurine dial, marking an important milestone in the collection’s evolution toward greater mechanical sophistication.
This latest release not only celebrates the brand’s rich history but also reinforces Chopard’s continued success in luxury watchmaking. From winning a prestigious award in 2013 to unveiling this exquisite 2025 collection, L’Heure du Diamant continues to shine as a symbol of timeless beauty and craftsmanship.
