Luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co. has unveiled a new timepiece — the Rope Watch — as part of its growing jewellery watch collection. Drawing from its own design archives, the brand continues to celebrate the legacy of legendary designer Jean Schlumberger, whose playful and artistic approach to jewellery has shaped many of Tiffany’s most iconic creations.
The Rope Watch stands out for its elegant design and advanced technology. Its twisted gold motif is a hallmark of the Rope jewellery line. This design was inspired by the braids, weaves, and tassels that Schlumberger saw growing up in a textile-manufacturing family in France. Now, Tiffany & Co. has given that classic motif a modern twist by incorporating it into a solar-powered watch.
This is Tiffany’s first timepiece to feature a solar-powered movement. The mechanism was developed by Swiss manufacturer La Joux-Perret. It uses solar cells placed beneath a semi-transparent dial to collect light. Once charged, the watch can run for up to eight months without further exposure to sunlight.
Customers can choose between two dial options — glossy black or white mother-of-pearl. Each watch comes in 18k yellow gold and is fitted with a buckle of the same metal. The bezel includes a ring of round brilliant diamonds, along with two polished gold rope circles. The case-back is decorated with a diamond and an engraved sun logo. The rope motif also appears on the minute hand, adding a subtle design touch.
The Rope Watch is available in two sizes — 27mm and 33mm. Depending on the dial selected, the timepiece comes with a Tiffany Blue® alligator strap or a black alligator strap. Both options reflect the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and timeless design.
With this release, Tiffany & Co. continues to blend heritage style with cutting-edge watchmaking, offering a piece that is both elegant and innovative.
