Italian jeweler Pomellato has introduced a fresh chapter in its high jewelry story, enhancing its iconic Nudo collection with new bespoke pieces.
The Milan-based brand launched a new campaign titled “The Art of Nudo,” which highlights its craftsmanship and creative philosophy. This initiative not only introduces updated designs but also tells the story of how the Nudo line has evolved since its debut in 2001.
“For me, Nudo represents the purest expression of Pomellato’s creative soul,” said Vincenzo Castaldo, the brand’s creative director. “It’s not just a design; it’s a philosophical statement about beauty in its most essential form.”
Reimagining a Modern Classic
The campaign focuses on what has made the Nudo collection unique: bold uses of cut and color. Since its introduction, Nudo has become known for its use of rare gemstones and its signature 57-facet cut.
The updated collection features stones like aquamarine, rubellite, tanzanite, and mother-of-pearl. These are paired with diamonds to create elegant combinations that reflect Pomellato’s dedication to artistic gemstone transformation.
A new video from the brand traces the journey of the collection, showing how it has grown to include more than 130 pieces using 24 different gemstones.
Highlights From the New Launch
Among the new pieces is a standout high jewelry necklace crafted in white gold, featuring tanzanite and diamonds. Matching drop earrings and cocktail rings, all surrounded by halos of white diamonds, complete the look.
Another addition is a sautoir necklace made from rose and white gold, inlaid with white mother-of-pearl and diamonds. These pieces demonstrate the skill of Pomellato’s artisans and reflect the brand’s modern approach to high jewelry.
“The art of gems is about capturing nature’s poetry in color,” said Stefano Cortecci, gem master at Pomellato. “When I search for Nudo stones, I’m not just looking for perfect gems — I’m searching for gems with personality and soul.”
He added, “Each stone must have a magical quality that speaks to the eye and the heart. Like an artist choosing pigments, we want gems that not only reflect light but turn it into emotion.”
A Global Celebration
This campaign builds on Pomellato’s earlier project, “The Art of Gems,” which highlighted the use of rare and unconventional stones in its designs. “The Art of Nudo” continues that narrative with a renewed focus on innovation and elegance, while staying true to the brand’s heritage.
To support the launch, Pomellato has opened an immersive exhibition in Seoul, South Korea, showcasing the Nudo collection. A VIP event was held on April 30, and the exhibition runs from May 1 to May 11.
“Whether it’s the mysterious depth of London blue topaz or the vivid warmth of red garnet, each stone must have something special,” Mr. Cortecci said. “It should make a woman pause, smile, and feel a moment of joy when she looks at her Nudo jewel.”
