Tiffany & Co. has officially opened its largest European store in Milan, setting a new standard for luxury retail. The flagship store is located on Via Monte Napoleone, one of the city’s most prestigious shopping streets, in the historic Palazzo Taverna. This neoclassical building was originally built in 1835.
The new Milan store draws inspiration from Tiffany’s famous Fifth Avenue flagship in New York, known as The Landmark. It blends the brand’s rich heritage with modern creativity and immersive design. The result is a shopping experience that is both elegant and unique.
Designed by renowned architect Peter Marino, the store combines historic and modern design elements. Its façade features arched windows made by legendary Murano glassmaker Venini. These windows are based on a design by Italian architect Gio Ponti. The window displays are inspired by Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, highlighting Tiffany’s strong connection to the art world.
Covering more than 1,200 square meters, the store is designed to feel like a journey. Each space inside tells a story. Customers can view works by artists such as Urs Fischer, Julian Schnabel, and Daniel Arsham. From the ground floor to private salons at the top, the store showcases both art and high-end jewelry. At the center of the store, a delicate skylight and transparent staircase — designed by Marino and Hugh Dutton — create a striking effect using glass and light, resembling the brilliance of diamonds.
The flagship presents Tiffany & Co.’s signature collections, including Lock, HardWear, T, and Knot. There is also a dedicated gallery for designer Elsa Peretti and a section for High Jewelry. On the first floor, shoppers will find Home & Accessories, as well as areas for personalization and customer service. The second floor features the “All About Love” space, which highlights Tiffany’s famous engagement rings, including the iconic Tiffany® Setting.
More than just a store opening, this new flagship marks Tiffany & Co.’s continued relationship with Italy. The design pays tribute to Italian art, craftsmanship, and light, celebrating the brand’s deep cultural ties to the country.
