Paula Badosa is stepping into the world of fashion with a new jewelry collaboration. The former World No. 2 tennis player has partnered with The 1916 Company to release her own collection, set to launch on May 20.
The collection is named Aces and was previewed by The 1916 Company on social media earlier this week. According to the brand, the line is “inspired by the grace of a champion and the precision of an athlete.” The company describes the pieces as “jewelry that celebrates performance, excellence, and personal growth.”
In a promotional video, Badosa is seen wearing the jewelry on the tennis court during practice. The collection includes earrings, necklaces, and bracelets with sunburst-inspired designs.
Fashion has long been a personal interest for Badosa. Her parents were both Spanish models living in New York City when she was born. In 2023, Badosa and her mother, Mireia, posed together for a fashion shoot in InStyle Spain. Earlier this year, she also designed her own tennis-themed earrings, called Golden Aces, which she wore during the US Open on her way to the quarterfinals.
This new launch, however, marks her first official collaboration with a major jeweler. The 1916 Company honors four boutique jewelers—WatchBox, Govberg, Radcliffe, and Hyde Park. The brand’s name pays tribute to the founding year of Govberg Jewelers, established in Philadelphia in 1916.
Badosa is currently recovering from a chronic back injury that has troubled her since 2023. She has not played for almost two months. She gave a walkover to Alexandra Eala in the fourth round of the Miami Open and later withdrew from tournaments in Madrid and Rome. However, her boyfriend, ATP World No. 19 Stefanos Tsitsipas, told reporters this week that she is “close to 100%.” Badosa is listed in the draw at the WTA 500 Internationaux de Strasbourg, where she is seeded No. 3.
Despite her recent setbacks, Badosa has had a strong comeback. In 2024, she won her first WTA title in two years in Washington, D.C., and was named the WTA Comeback Player of the Year. She began the 2025 season with her first Grand Slam semifinal appearance at the Australian Open.
That performance reminded Badosa of her potential. She said it helped her believe that she can still compete at the highest level—if she stays healthy.
“I came so close to it, so now I want it even more,” she said. “Despite these injuries, I’ve been able to prove that, when I’m healthy, I’m one of the best in the world. That makes me wonder: why can’t I be the next one if I’m in shape?”
