A new face in Quincy’s artisan community is making waves with her handcrafted sterling silver jewelry.
Halo Salon has announced it is welcoming summer by featuring the work of local jewelry artist Melissa Gregg. Gregg began creating sterling silver pieces in July 2024, after being inspired by a coworker’s experiences and their handmade designs. That inspiration led her to enroll in a jewelry-making class, which sparked a passion that quickly grew into a full-time creative pursuit.
Working out of her home studio in Meadow Valley, Gregg now handcrafts a variety of silver pieces, including necklaces, rings, earrings, hair pins, cuff bracelets, and ear cuffs. She also specializes in custom designs. Her creations are available for purchase at The Hub and the Plumas Arts Gallery in Quincy.
Gregg said she especially enjoys working on personalized orders and encourages customers to share their design ideas. Many of her custom pieces feature beads, stones, and silver soldering techniques, making each item unique.
“I love hearing people’s ideas and turning them into something beautiful they can wear,” she said.
As summer begins, Halo Salon invites the community to explore Gregg’s work and support local artistry.
