European Watch Company (EWC), a leading seller of luxury pre-owned watches, has announced a new partnership with Chubb, a global leader in insurance. This collaboration will offer worldwide insurance coverage for EWC clients’ valuable watch and jewelry collections.
With more than 30 years in the luxury watch market, EWC has earned a strong reputation for trust and excellent service. Chubb is known for its high-quality customer care and comprehensive insurance products. Together, they aim to provide broad protection for high-value watches, jewelry, and other valuables.
The partnership uses Chubb Studio, Chubb’s digital insurance platform. This technology allows EWC’s customers to enjoy a smooth and quick insurance experience. It also supports faster market access and specialized support for clients.
The new insurance policy, underwritten by Chubb, offers global coverage within the policy’s specified regions. It includes protection against loss, theft, damage, and even mysterious disappearance—all with no deductible. The coverage amount is based on the current market value of each watch. The policy value adjusts annually to reflect changes in the secondary market.
Unlike standard homeowner’s insurance, which often limits coverage for watches and jewelry, this policy guarantees full protection for the agreed value. In some cases, claims can be paid up to 150% of the insured amount, depending on the policy terms.
For collectors with large or valuable portfolios, Chubb offers premium discounts when strong security measures are in place at home and during travel. Watches valued under $100,000 do not require an appraisal. Policyholders can choose how to settle claims: repair, replacement, or cash payment.
Joshua Ganjei, CEO of European Watch Company, said, “We hear many stories of collections being stolen. We wanted to give our clients a strong way to protect their investments. Luxury watches are not just timepieces; they hold history, craftsmanship, and investment value. With Chubb’s expertise and our commitment to the watch community, we offer insurance protection that matches the importance of these pieces.”
The policy is flexible and can be tailored to the needs of any collector, whether they own a single watch or a large collection.
Amy McNeece, Head of Digital Consumer for Personal Risk Services at Chubb, added, “We know how much excitement and care go into buying jewelry and watches. We are happy to work with European Watch Company to help protect their clients’ treasured collections from unexpected risks.”
