Britney Spears has taken a significant step toward launching her first jewelry line. According to TMZ, she has officially filed a trademark for the brand.
The paperwork was submitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday. The filing meets all the basic requirements and is now waiting for official review.
Sources close to Britney say the main reason for the trademark is to stop others from using the brand name before Britney can launch her own collection. Although there is no confirmed launch date yet, Britney and her team hope to release the line soon.
The jewelry line will focus exclusively on jewelry items. Britney is expected to be deeply involved in designing all the pieces.
