Red Luxury, a Paris-based watches and jewellery group founded in 2012 by Romain Bénichou and David-Emmanuel Cohen, has acquired the French men’s jewellery brand Le Gramme.
Le Gramme, founded in 2012 by Adrien Messié and Erwan Le Louër, is known for its silver bracelets named after their weight in grams. The brand went into receivership in October 2023 and was liquidated in December 2024.
Romain Bénichou, president of Red Luxury and now also president of Le Gramme, said, “Le Gramme has all the attributes of a major label: a strong identity, a clear positioning, and a loyal customer base. We will give Le Gramme the means to reach a new level.”
The new owners have announced plans to expand the brand both in France and internationally.
Red Luxury said in a press release, “An ambitious expansion strategy is already under way. We plan to open flagship stores soon in Paris, London, and New York to strengthen the brand’s high-end positioning.” The company did not disclose the exact locations of the new stores.
To lead Le Gramme’s new direction, Red Luxury appointed Mehmet Kartal as managing director. Kartal was previously head of fine and costume jewellery and watches at the Paris department store Printemps.
Le Gramme is currently sold in 200 stores across 25 countries. In 2020, it increased its presence in Paris by opening concessions at Le Bon Marché, Printemps Haussmann, and Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. The brand has about 20 employees and operates mainly in France and the USA.
Red Luxury designs, produces, and distributes its own brands such as Ginette NY, and also manages licensed brands like Vilebrequin (watches) and Sonia Rykiel. The group last reported its results in 2022, with a revenue of €40 million. It aims to grow this figure to €100 million by 2027.
