Bonhams will hold its Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite auction on May 22, featuring an impressive selection of rare colored gemstones and high-end designer jewelry.
Leading the sale is a ring set with a 1.08-carat fancy vivid pink diamond. The stone is internally flawless and has an exceptionally pure color. It is expected to sell for between $500,000 and $640,000.
Another standout piece is the Kat Florence “Lumina,” a 181.61-carat unmounted paraiba-type tourmaline from Mozambique. This gemstone is untreated and displays a rich greenish-blue hue. Bonhams considers it one of the finest of its kind. It carries an estimated value between $385,000 and $640,000.
The auction will also include several signature pieces from Cartier. These include a platinum Panthère bracelet decorated with diamonds and buff-top sapphires. The bracelet features two panther heads with emerald eyes and onyx noses. Other Cartier items include a rare Art Deco brooch and a diamond Agrafe demi-parure.
Jewels by other prestigious designers will also be offered. Highlights include ruby earrings by Harry Winston and a vivid yellow diamond ring weighing 7.03 carats. A black opal and diamond ring by Mikimoto will be up for sale, along with Colombian emerald earrings, unheated spinels, and a sapphire and garnet necklace by de Grisogono.
In addition to the live auction, Bonhams will host an online sale from May 17 to May 26. The digital catalog includes 126 lots. These items feature jadeite and diamond sets, bold statement earrings, and pieces with strong provenance. All items in the online sale come from a single Southeast Asian collector.
