Swarovski, a leading global jewelry brand, will close its San Francisco Centre store on May 19, according to reports from the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner.
While this location will shut down, Swarovski’s Union Square store at 295 Geary Street, just two blocks away, will remain open.
The closure is part of a broader trend in the mall, previously known as Westfield, which has seen several retailers leave. However, stores like H&M, Foot Locker, Shoe Palace, and Bath & Body Works continue to operate.
Swarovski’s departure follows announcements from two major department stores, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s, both of which are leaving the Union Square area. Additionally, luxury spa Burke Williams closed last month, citing safety concerns.
Despite these closures, new retailers are still making moves in the downtown area. The Nintendo store is set to open on May 15, and Zara plans to open a massive 40,000-square-foot, four-story location at an unspecified date.
Swarovski, known for its crystal jewelry, remains one of the most famous brands globally, with 20 million followers across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. Its brand ambassadors include celebrities like Ariana Grande, Bella Hadid, and K-pop star Kim Chaewon of LE SSERAFIM.
