French luxury house Dior has named actress Charlize Theron as the face of its first-ever high jewelry campaign, marking a major milestone in their long-standing collaboration. This is the first time Dior has chosen an ambassador for its exclusive Dior Joaillerie collection.
The new campaign, photographed by Mario Sorrenti, launches globally in May. It will appear on Dior’s digital platforms and across international media. Theron, who has worked with Dior for nearly two decades, will now represent the brand’s high jewelry line under the artistic direction of Victoire de Castellane.
In a statement, Theron called the partnership a “natural evolution” of her work with Dior. “It’s our collaboration I have always valued and appreciated,” she said. “Together, we felt that it was important for this high jewelry story to embody the essence of what it means to be bold and confident.” Her words echo the creative spirit of de Castellane, known for daring and artistic jewelry designs that honor Dior’s legacy.
The campaign showcases signature pieces such as the Dior Milly Dentelle Couture Fleurie necklace and matching ring. First revealed in January, the pieces are crafted to resemble fine floral lace laid gently on the skin. Made in rose gold, they sparkle with marquise and pear-cut diamonds. At the center of the necklace is an 8-carat, cushion-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond, surrounded by smaller yellow gems in a star-like pattern.
Another highlight is the Forêt Glacée Bleu set from the 2024 Diorama collection. Inspired by a winter wonderland, the design combines platinum, rose gold, and sapphires. It brings Dior’s iconic toile de Jouy print to life as a dreamlike forest filled with gemstone-encrusted animals. The necklace features a central 11-carat, oval-cut sapphire from Madagascar, detailed with intricate blue and black lacquer for added texture and depth.
Theron’s new role follows her appointment last year as Dior’s global ambassador for both skincare and jewelry. Her expanded presence reinforces Dior’s image of elegance, strength, and artistry.
“Charlize is an icon,” said Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior Couture. “She perfectly embodies the union of arts, craftsmanship and dreams that defines Dior’s high jewelry.”
Beyond fashion, Theron is a powerful voice in film and global activism. She is an Oscar-winning actress, a producer, and the founder of the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project, which supports youth in Southern Africa. Since 2008, she has also served as a United Nations Messenger of Peace.
Theron will return to the screen this summer in The Old Guard 2, reprising her role as the immortal warrior Andromache of Scythia. The Netflix sequel is set to premiere on July 2.
