Dior has introduced its new Diorexquis collection, marking a bold step in high jewellery with over 160 stunning pieces. Under the creative direction of Victoire de Castellane, the collection blends fantasy with classic elegance, showcasing innovative designs and techniques.
The collection was unveiled at a twilight gala at Château de La Colle Noire in the South of France, drawing inspiration from Dior’s rich history and the beauty of nature. It celebrates lush gardens, breathtaking landscapes, and the glamour of Dior’s legendary galas.
A key feature of the Diorexquis collection is its craftsmanship, especially the use of the “opal doublet” technique. This method involves layering opal over onyx or mother-of-pearl, creating a sense of depth that captures the shifting colors of the sky, the sea, and natural light.
Divided into three main themes, the collection takes us through enchanted gardens, luxurious floral arrangements, and the grandeur of extravagant balls. Each theme is brought to life with fine details and a vivid range of gemstones.
For example, the Diorexquis Pluie d’été set uses an opal doublet to evoke the mood of a stormy summer sky. Meanwhile, the Bouquet des Roses set features a stunning 12.57-carat pink sapphire surrounded by opal and mother-of-pearl, creating an elegant floral image.
The final theme celebrates Christian Dior’s love for lavish parties and the elegance of ballroom gowns. Pieces inspired by grand celebrations include diamond-framed windows and curtains made of pink rubies, with aventurine glass and mother-of-pearl doublets evoking the atmosphere of a glamorous event.
Diorexquis is more than just a collection of jewellery; it is a tribute to Dior’s long-standing fascination with nature, craftsmanship, and celebration. The innovative materials and thoughtful designs elevate the pieces into works of art, blending beauty with storytelling.
