Health Canada has issued a recall for a popular children’s jewelry kit sold on Amazon.ca after tests revealed dangerously high levels of lead.
The product in question is the SUZUTOY charm bracelet-making kit for girls. This arts and crafts set includes beads, pendants, adjustable bracelets, hair clips, a keychain, and necklaces. The items come in a pink gift box labeled with the phrases “Hello Princess” and “You Are My Little Princess Beautiful,” the agency said in an online advisory.
Officials are urging parents to immediately remove the jewelry from children and to dispose of it following local hazardous waste rules.
So far, no injuries or health issues have been reported in Canada, according to Health Canada. The agency said 9,800 units were sold across the country from August 2023 to April 2025. Amazon.ca has since removed the product from its website. Health Canada has also contacted the third-party seller.
The agency reminded consumers that shopping online carries risks, especially when buying products for children. It advised the public to review its online shopping safety guidelines.
Under Canadian law, it is illegal to import, advertise, or sell jewelry for children under 15 that contains more than 90 milligrams of lead per kilogram.
“Lead and cadmium are extremely toxic, especially to children,” Health Canada warned. Exposure can cause brain damage, coma, and harm to organs such as the liver, kidneys, and heart. In severe cases, exposure may even lead to death.
