Rescue teams are continuing their work at the Sky Villa condominium complex following a strong earthquake. More bodies have been discovered, and valuable items have been recovered from the rubble.
The Myanmar Fire Services Department reported that during their search in Buildings B and C, they found a large amount of gold jewelry and cash. The recovered items included 20 gold bracelets, 24 gold rings, 9 gold chains, 16 gold earrings, 14 gold pendants, two gold clips, three additional bracelets, one necklace, one gold hairpin, a gold bar weighing two ticals, 18 small Mogok stones, five rough stones, seven polished stones, and 263,280 kyats in cash. They also found two passports, three vehicle registration plates, and other important documents. These items were handed back to their owners by the Property Transfer Team.
Later that same morning, at about 10 a.m., rescuers found the body of a man in the same buildings. Authorities are still searching for missing people and clearing debris as they continue recovery operations.
