The Diamond Council of America (DCA) has launched a new digital learning platform along with updated versions of its Beginning Jewelry Sales and Advanced Jewelry Sales courses.
According to DCA, the new platform is easier to use, more accessible, and designed to better engage jewelry professionals at all levels. The upgrades are part of the organization’s broader effort to modernize its educational offerings.
Both sales courses now feature clearer content, improved visual design, and expanded sections on lab-grown diamonds, pearls, and watches.
The beginner-level course introduces key selling skills and product knowledge. It provides practical training for newcomers while offering a refresher for experienced associates. The advanced course builds on this by focusing on more complex topics, such as customer communication, merchandising, and service strategies.
“These updates reflect our commitment to providing high-quality, accessible training for the jewelry industry,” said DCA President and CEO Terry Chandler. “Ease of use was a top priority in developing the new platform.”
Chandler credited Jewelers Mutual for supporting the project. “With their help, the new platform and updated curriculum better support every stage of a student’s professional journey, helping teams become more confident and effective in selling jewelry,” he said.
Scott Murphy, President and CEO of Jewelers Mutual, emphasized the importance of training. “We are proud to support the Diamond Council of America in its mission to deliver quality jewelry education. Well-trained sales associates do more than just sell—they build lasting customer trust,” Murphy said.
In addition to the revamped sales courses, the new platform will host The Diamond Course and The Colored Gemstone Course. These programs cover topics such as diamond grading, lab-grown alternatives, gemstone value, and presentation techniques. They are designed to help sales professionals guide customers toward confident, informed purchases.
Students already enrolled in DCA’s previous learning system must finish their courses within one year of their start date or by August 1, whichever comes first. After that, they will need to begin the course again on the new platform.
DCA says these changes aim to create a more intuitive and rewarding learning experience for the next generation of jewelry professionals.
