As gold prices continue to climb, an opportunity has emerged for those looking to turn their old jewelry into cash. Whether it’s a broken necklace, an inherited family heirloom, or a forgotten wedding ring, many are now seeking ways to cash in their gold items.
“It’s attracting a lot of interest from our neighbors—regular people, not just investors—who want to sell their gold for a fair price,” said Lynn Seeden, CEO of the Argyle Business Association and owner of Seeden Photography.
In response to the growing demand, Seeden has teamed up with master jeweler David Truong, a member of the Argyle Business Association, to host a gold and jewelry cash-in event in Argyle next week.
“This is a great opportunity for local seniors who may have accumulated jewelry over the years, including Krugerrands or coins, and could benefit from turning them into cash,” Seeden said. She also noted that many adults are looking to sell jewelry passed down from loved ones.
The Argyle Jewelry and Gold Buying Event will take place at the Argyle Business Association office, located at 306 US-HWY 377 North, Suite J, Argyle, TX 76226, in the same parking lot as PointBank Argyle. The event will run from Wednesday, May 21 to Saturday, May 24, with hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Appointments are available every 30 minutes, though walk-ins are also welcome. However, wait times may vary, and attendees may need to enjoy a cup of coffee while waiting for their turn.
During the event, jeweler David Truong from Mimi’s Jewelry will evaluate each item brought in. He will assess whether the piece is genuine or fake and make an offer based on its value. If the offer is accepted, attendees will receive a check on the spot. All transactions will be conducted by check; no cash will be exchanged.
Truong will only be purchasing jewelry at this event, not selling any items. The event is sponsored by the Argyle Business Association and will also serve as a fundraiser for local student business scholarships and meals for seniors.
