IROND ALE, Ala. (WBRC) – Over the Labor Day weekend, the Irondale Civic Center welcomed gem and mineral aficionados to a captivating event. From September 1st to 3rd, the Alabama Mineral & Lapidary Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to geology and mineralogy enthusiasts, hosted a gem and mineral show.

This extraordinary show provided a platform for both seasoned experts and casual collectors to explore a diverse array of gems, minerals, and handcrafted treasures. The event featured over 100 tables adorned with the creations of various artists, ensuring that every visitor could discover something that piqued their interest.

John Wild, a vendor at the show, emphasized the wide appeal of the event, stating, “It appeals to a wide range of people.” He further elaborated, “There are those seeking healing crystals and stones, individuals looking for exquisite items to adorn their mantels and bookshelves at home, and those with a penchant for acquiring diverse types of jewelry.”

Ticket prices were set at $5 for adults, $3 for teenagers, and free admission for children aged 12 and under.
