Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the 55th Middle East Watch and Jewelry Exhibition on Wednesday. The event will run until June 1st.
Organized by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this exhibition is the largest of its kind in the UAE and the region. It features more than 500 exhibitors and over 1,800 designers, manufacturers, and experts. These participants represent major international companies specializing in watches, gold, gemstones, and rare jewelry.
During the opening, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem toured the exhibition. He viewed the displays and designs while listening to exhibitors explain their products and innovative crafting techniques. He also learned about the latest trends in the gold and jewelry industry.
The Deputy Ruler visited various exhibition areas, including those of Emirati designers. These designers presented modern takes on Emirati heritage through gold and unique jewelry pieces.
The exhibition covers 30,000 square meters. It serves as a key platform for business deals, partnerships, and insights into market trends in gold and jewelry.
This year, exhibitors come from many countries, including Russia, Mexico, Tanzania, and Egypt. Leading companies from the UAE, India, Italy, the UK, the US, Singapore, China, Japan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Lebanon also participate. They showcased exclusive designs for 2025.
Notably, the exhibition set a new Guinness World Record for the longest diamond necklace. The necklace measures 108 meters and is made from more than 600 lab-created diamonds and 18-carat rose gold.
Alongside the exhibition, there are several specialized programs and workshops. These events help participants improve their skills and learn about recent developments in the global jewelry industry.
Several officials attended the opening with Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem, including Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other prominent figures.
