Cartier has launched its latest high jewelry collection, titled “En Équilibre,” in an elegant showcase far from its usual Parisian backdrop. The renowned French jeweler, traditionally known for revealing its high jewelry pieces during Haute Couture Week in Paris each January and July, chose Stockholm, Sweden, for this season’s unveiling.
The event marks a strategic move for Cartier, extending its presence beyond fashion capitals like Paris and major red carpet events such as the Cannes Film Festival, where celebrities like Elle Fanning, Catherine Deneuve, and Gong Li recently wore its creations. This time, the luxury house opted for a more intimate and artistic setting in the Scandinavian city to present the 115-piece collection.
The celebration took place at the Artipelag, a contemporary art museum located in the Stockholm archipelago. Guests were transported by boat to the museum, which is known for its harmony between modern architecture and natural surroundings. The evening began with a private exhibition at the historic Nacka Strandmässen building, where Cartier’s artisans demonstrated the intricate craftsmanship behind the collection. One standout demonstration featured the creation process of the Panthère Dentelée necklace, a symbol of the brand’s refined savoir-faire.
The “En Équilibre” collection features several standout pieces that showcase Cartier’s dedication to bold design and fine craftsmanship.
One highlight is the Tsagaan necklace, which takes inspiration from the snow leopard. The necklace, crafted from diamonds and black onyx, uses angular lines and pointed design to subtly reveal the face of the elusive big cat at its center.
Another statement piece is the Traforato necklace, inspired by three octagonal emeralds. This necklace features a zigzag design with emerald and diamond baguettes leading to a cascade of round diamonds. The overall effect is both graphic and fluid.
The Skudo ring stands out with its clean, symmetrical lines. It is based on two shield-cut diamonds and has a bold, geometric shape that reaches a peak at the top, giving it a striking, balanced look.
To mark the occasion, Cartier welcomed several international guests and friends of the Maison. Among them were actress Zoë Saldaña, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård, and global brand ambassadors Deepika Padukone and Anna Sawai. VIP attendees enjoyed a glamorous gala evening surrounded by contemporary art and natural beauty, reflecting the essence of the new collection—delicate yet daring, precise yet creative.
By choosing Stockholm for its debut, Cartier not only introduced a stunning new collection but also reinforced its global appeal and commitment to presenting high jewelry in fresh and inspiring ways.
