(IDEX Online) – Swarovski has launched a new line of lab-grown diamond jewelry, introducing a patented octagon-shaped cut developed in-house.
The new Octagon Collection includes pendants, earrings, bracelets, and rings. Prices range from approximately $1,000 to over $5,000.
Swarovski, a private family-owned company based in Austria, operates more than 2,300 stores worldwide. The brand says it tested around 1,000 different diamond cut variations before selecting the final design.
According to the company, the Octagon cut was chosen for its superior brilliance and light return, outperforming standard emerald and baguette cuts.
This proprietary cut is Swarovski’s first original diamond cut. It features 57 facets—32 on the pavilion, 24 on the crown, and one on the table. The crown includes a step cut, while the pavilion incorporates a princess cut, creating a unique and refined shape.
Swarovski describes the final design as a “smoother, more elongated take on the traditional octagon.”
The company noted that its lab-grown diamond sales doubled last year. It now plans to shift its focus toward more luxurious and higher-margin jewelry offerings.
