The New Jersey Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show is returning this month, bringing an exciting array of rare items including gemstones, prehistoric fossils, crystals, and meteorites. This bi-annual event will take place at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison from Wednesday, May 14 to Sunday, May 18.
The family-friendly show will run from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available for $15 on weekdays and $20 on weekends, with family passes ranging from $30 to $45, which admit two adults and up to four children.
“This event stands out for its vast selection of unique items, offering something for everyone—from young kids fascinated by fossils to serious collectors of gemstones,” said Russell Carhart, the show’s promoter.
The show will feature museum-quality minerals, prehistoric fossils, meteorites, beads, crystals, gold, silver, turquoise, and precious gemstones. Dealers from around the world will offer items from Africa, North America, and Europe, including rare fossils like those from a Tyrannosaurus rex, woolly mammoth, fish, and ancient mammals, along with shark teeth.
Visitors can purchase a wide variety of items, from affordable trinkets to custom-made pieces such as modern and rare gemstones, vintage jewelry, estate pieces, loose stones, handcrafted creations, and engagement rings.
In addition to the impressive collection of goods, attendees will have the chance to learn from professionals such as paleontologists, miners, and gemologists. Experts will be on-site to answer questions and provide evaluations of personal collections.
The show is designed to be an engaging experience for families. Children can enjoy hands-on activities such as creating their own treasure chests for gems, fossils, and minerals, as well as excavating fossils, gems, and plastic dinosaurs in a dig pit.
Adults can also enjoy interactive activities including a rubber duck hunt, where visitors can search for hidden gold and silver ducks to win prizes. Other attractions include metal detecting, geode cracking, gemstone sluicing, and gemstone panning.
The New Jersey Mineral, Fossil, Gem & Jewelry Show promises to be an exciting and educational event for collectors and families alike.
