Jim Thompson and SARRAN Unveil Silk Jewelry Collection Inspired by Temple of Arun

In an innovative collaboration, Jim Thompson has partnered with the Thai jewelry brand SARRAN to create a unique jewelry collection, “Beyond Silk,” that transforms fine silk into wearable art. The new “Arun” collection draws inspiration from the stunning spires of the Temple of Arun, blending traditional Thai craftsmanship with contemporary design.

This marks the first collaboration between Jim Thompson, renowned for its luxurious silk, and SARRAN, known for its intricate jewelry artistry. The “Arun” collection reimagines Jim Thompson’s iconic silk into one-of-a-kind pieces, capturing the essence of Thai beauty and elegance. Through this partnership, silk is revealed to have a versatility that goes beyond fabric, now presented in the form of striking jewelry.

The collection includes earrings, ear clips, and brooches, each showcasing the signature colors of Jim Thompson: orange, gold, and blue. Delicate floral motifs, a hallmark of SARRAN’s style, are incorporated into each piece. The jewelry reflects a dynamic interplay of light and shadow, with intricate textures and patterns that create a visual impact.

Inspired by the changing colors of the Wat Arun pagoda’s tiles, which shift throughout the day, the collection symbolizes “strength and tenderness,” a balance that resonates with modern femininity. The collaboration also highlights the expertise of local artisans, who employ traditional Thai techniques like embroidery, silk threading, and fabric pleating to craft each piece.

Notably, each piece in the Arun collection features hand-painted fabric patterns, complemented by gemstones. A standout feature of the collection is the use of “Ob Rum,” an ancient Thai technique from the Ayutthaya period. This method infuses silk with fragrance, adding both protection and a unique sensory element to the jewelry.

Arun Single Flower Earrings: Available in small, medium, and large sizes, in three signature shades: Sunrise Orange, Twilight Blue, and Prosperity Yellow.

Arun Flower Earrings with Drape: Available in short and long versions, adorned with silk petals and gemstones.

Arun Flower Clip Earrings: Featuring both single flower and drape designs.

Flower Two-tone Brooch and Pin: Available in three sizes, with large sizes only in Sunrise Orange, and all three signature colors.

This exclusive collection will be available starting April 1st at Jim Thompson’s Iconic Store (Heritage Quarter branch), Surawong flagship store, ICONSIAM, and Siam Paragon.
