Bvlgari has officially opened its expanded Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza, Italy, now the largest single-brand jewelry manufacturing facility in the world.
The new site spans 33,000 square meters and highlights the excellence of Italian craftsmanship. With this expansion, the Roman luxury brand plans to double its production capacity. Bvlgari also expects to hire over 500 new artisans by 2029.
The site reflects a strong focus on sustainability. Half of its energy needs are now met through innovative systems, including a geothermal field and more than 4,100 solar panels. The remaining energy comes entirely from renewable sources. These efforts support the facility’s LEED GOLD certification, a global standard for green buildings. Since 2022, Bvlgari has used only RJC CoC-certified gold, ensuring ethical sourcing and full traceability.
The Manifattura also houses Scuola Bvlgari, the company’s first public training center devoted to jewelry-making. This 1,000-square-meter school will train future artisans using both traditional methods and modern techniques. The school operates in partnership with Tarì Design School (TADS). Alongside the existing Bvlgari Jewelry Academy, it offers specialized courses in goldsmithing and gemstone setting. Lessons are taught by experienced masters using innovative teaching methods.
This new facility brings together environmental care, creative excellence, and knowledge-sharing. It reflects Bvlgari’s broader vision for modern, sustainable, and human-focused manufacturing.
“Manifattura Bvlgari in Valenza represents our full vision,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, Bvlgari CEO. “It merges sustainability, education, and employee well-being in one place. It’s a major step in our strategy to manage the entire production process, all within a space that encourages innovation and growth.”
He added that the site is home to artisans from more than 30 countries, creating a diverse and vibrant workplace. “Our goal is a luxury model based on shared excellence, where both people and the planet benefit.”
