Designer Suzanne Kalan is combining elegance with modern technology in her latest collection of tech ring jackets.
These jackets are designed to enhance smart rings, such as the Oura, by adding a stylish diamond band. The collection offers a new way to showcase a tech ring without sacrificing fashion, according to the brand.
The global market for wearable tech is projected to reach $186 billion by 2030, according to a report by Grand View Research.
Kalan is one of the first luxury designers to create a “high-end solution” for styling smart rings, allowing them to blend seamlessly with a wearer’s other jewelry, the brand added.
Kalan explained that the inspiration for the collection came from observing her clients’ reactions to smart rings.
“They loved the functionality [of smart rings], but not the look,” Kalan said.
“Many women would show me their rings, then quickly hide their hands, saying, ‘Don’t look at my tech ring!’ That’s when I knew there had to be a way to make these rings something people want to show off.”
The jackets feature a flat side that sits perfectly against the smart ring, while the outer side is adorned with diamonds arranged in Kalan’s signature “Firework” setting.
The collection includes 11 different styles, with various diamond cuts such as baguettes, princess, and round shapes, set in 18-karat yellow, white, or rose gold.
Each set of jackets, sold in pairs, is priced between $5,000 and $27,000. The jackets can be worn as a trio with a smart ring, stacked in pairs, or worn alone when the smart ring is being charged.
The new collection will be available exclusively on Suzanne Kalan’s website and in-store at Harrods in London.
